Daily Windows for the week of Feb. 5-11, 2017

SUNDAY

What would help you find rest and value in the LORD?

Morning and Midday
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.  [Psalm73:26, NLT]

Evening
As long as I am content to know that He is infinitely greater than I, and that I cannot know Him unless He shows Himself to me, I will have peace, and He will be near me and in me, and I will rest in Him.  [Thomas Merton]

MONDAY

What do you want to surrender today – and what do you want to ask for in exchange?

Morning and Midday
Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.  [Ecclesiastes 7:9, ESV]

Evening
Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place, so the moment God finds you abases and empty, His glory and power flow in.  [Andrew Murray]

TUESDAY

What would help you be more aware of God’s presence today?

Morning and Midday
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.  [Psalm 31:24, NIV]

Evening
In these two things the greatness of man consists, to have God so dwelling in us as to impart His character to us, and to have Him so dwelling in us that we recognize His presence, and know that we are His, and He is ours. The one is salvation: the other the assurance of it.  [Frederick W. Robertson]

WEDNESDAY

What reminds you of all the reasons you have to be grateful?

Morning and Midday
The faithful love of the lord never ends! His mercies never cease.  [Lamentations 3:22, NLT]

Evening
We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.  [Harry Ironside]

THURSDAY

What is the next step of commitment and action for you to join what God is doing in the world?

Morning and Midday
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  [Philippians 2:3, ESV]

Evening
The Christian life is not adding Jesus to one’s own way of life but renouncing that personal way of life for His and being willing to pay whatever cost that may require.  [John MacArthur]

FRIDAY

What nagging and persistent habits or patterns do you need to confess?

Morning and Midday
The lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the lord holds them by the hand.  [Psalm 37:23-24]

Evening
Children of God should not make a general confession by acknowledging their innumerable sins in a vague manner, because such confession does not provide conscience opportunity to do its perfect work. They ought to allow the Holy Spirit through their conscience to point out their sins one by one. Christians must accept its reproach and be willing, according to the mind of the Spirit, to eliminate everything which is contrary to God  [Watchman Nee]

SATURDAY

What areas of need are difficult for you to admit?

Morning and Midday
Give your burdens to the lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.  [Psalm 55:22, NIV]

Evening
Take heed and beware of covetousness. The Lord saw the need of doubly warning against that besetting sin.  [William Tiptaft]
