Daily Windows for the week of March 19-25

SUNDAY

What would help you find rest and value in the LORD?

Morning and Midday
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For you have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling;
I will walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.  [Psalm 116:7-9, ESV]

Evening
Faith is to rest, not in the best of God’s servants, but in His unchanging Word.  [Harry Ironside]

MONDAY

What do you want to surrender today – and what do you want to ask for in exchange?

Morning and Midday
Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.  [Acts 2:44-47, HCSB]

Evening
You become stronger only when you become weaker. When you surrender your will to God, you discover the resources to do what God requires.  [Erwin Lutzer]

TUESDAY

What would help you be more aware of God’s presence today?

Morning and Midday
Shout with joy to the lord, all the earth!
Worship the lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.  [Psalm 100, NLT]

Evening
If you look up into His face and say, “Yes, Lord, whatever it costs,” at that moment He’ll flood your life with His presence and power.  [Alan Redpath]

WEDNESDAY

What reminds you of all the reasons you have to be grateful?

Morning and Midday
They all realized they were in a place of holy mystery, that God was at work among them. They were quietly worshipful—and then noisily grateful, calling out among themselves, “God is back, looking to the needs of his people!” The news of Jesus spread all through the country.  [Luke 7:16, MSG]

Evening
It is grace at the beginning, and grace at the end. So that when you and I come to lie upon our death beds, the one thing that should comfort and help and strengthen us there is the thing that helped us in the beginning. Not what we have been, not what we have done, but the Grace of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. The Christian life starts with grace, it must continue with grace, it ends with grace. Grace wondrous grace. By the grace of God I am what I am. Yet not I, but the Grace of God which was with me.
  [Martyn Lloyd-Jones]

THURSDAY

What is the next step of commitment and action for you to join what God is doing in the world?

Morning and Midday
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  [1 Peter 1:13, NASB]

Evening
There’s a pardon for every sinner on the topside of the earth, but you have to call for it by faith before it becomes yours. In other words, you have to trust Christ as your Savior.  [J. Vernon McGee]

FRIDAY

What nagging and persistent habits or patterns do you need to confess?

Morning and Midday
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.  [Romans 12:1-2, NIV]

Evening
God, I pray Thee, light these idle sticks of my life that I may burn for Thee. Consume my life, my God, for it is Thine. I seek not a long life but a full one like You, Lord Jesus.  [Jim Elliot]

SATURDAY

What areas of need are difficult for you to admit?

Morning and Midday
I am exhausted and completely crushed.
My groans come from an anguished heart.
You know what I long for, Lord;
you hear my every sigh.  [Psalm 38:8-9, NLT]

Evening
God answers all true prayer, either in kind or in kindness.  [Adoniram Judson]
